#11, The Lake House, by Kate Morton

It seems like it took me forever to read this book. At times I got exasperated by how slowly it moved forward, and yet, I found that I had to finish it. DC Sadie Sparrow is visiting her grandfather in Cornwall while she is on leave from the London police force for her indiscretion in the case of a missing mother. She stumbles upon a seventy-year-old case of a missing local boy which intrigues and ultimately obsesses her. Sometimes maddeningly, it jumps between 1911, 1933, and 2003, but still it kept me turning the pages, willing the plot to just move along a bit, okay?!? By the end, the pieces were all tied satisfyingly if a little too neatly in a pretty little bow. If you are looking for an entertaining whodunit and aren't in a hurry to get to the end, by all means give it a try.
