#37, The Snow Child, by Eowyn Ivey

The first two-thirds of this book were great. Mabel and Jack moved to Alaska to get away from everyone after their child was still-born. Their relationship was stagnant, and they were struggling to make a go of their homestead. The loneliness and the struggles are brought to life through some wonderful writing. The gradual re-connection with neighbors and each other is nicely depicted. I can't pinpoint what exactly made the last third disappointing to me. Maybe it was too predictable. I would love for some of my friends to read it to see if they agree.
