#41, The Flame Beareer, by Bernard Cornwell

This, the tenth in the series of Uhtred of Bebbanburg, is not one of the best, but quite enjoyable none the less. If you haven't read any of these, I recommend stating at the beginning with The Last Kingdom. I admit I'm hooked, and plan to read as many as come along. Not great literature, nothing to compare with the Patrick O'Brian novels of the royal navy, but definitely good yarns.

#40, Before the Fall, by Noah Hawley

An obscure painter and a four-year-old bo are the only survivors of a small plane crash. This book explores the paths that led each passenger to the fateful flight and explores the aftermath effects on the two survivors. The ending was a little moralizing, but for the most part the book was well worth the time.
