#32, The Black Echo, by Michael Connelly

This is the first Harry Bosch book, as well as Michael Connelly's first. And, boy, for a first novel this is really well done! No wonder Michael Connelly has had so much success. Harry Bosch comes off as a self-righteous jerk at times, but the authors means him to. The plot is tricky enough, the writing very good, and the look back in time to 1992, where the cops are using pay phones and waiting in line to use the computer is amusing. If you like Harry Bosch, this is right up your alley.
