#36, The Devil's Plaything, by Matt Richtel

Nat Idle loves his grandmother Lane, and begins to wonder about her rapidly eroding memory.  His curiosity leads him on a quest for information that kept me guessing to the end.  Not a great book, but fun.

#35, Miss Pym Disposes, by Josephine Tey

While this book finishes with a solved mystery, it is more than a mystery story.  It is an evocation of an English school for girls, of young girls on the edge of adulthood, of relationships.  The character-studies are insightful and spot-on.  A very enjoyable book, more literature than genre mystery.  Highly recommended.

#34, A Night to Remember, by Walter Lord

This classic about the sinking of the Titanic lives up to its reputation.  I can't vouch for the accuracy of the information, or whether subsequent scholarship has made this book outdated, but it is a fascinating story.  I kept thinking, "If only they had hit the iceberg head-on.  If only the Californian had responded.  If only some of the half-filled life-boats had returned a little sooner.  If only..."  A well-told story of a tragic night.
