#29, Bearing Flase Witness, Debumking Centuries of Anti-Catholic History, by Rodney Stark

Rodney Stark is a historian. He is not a Catholic. He sets out to debunk popular myths about the Catholic Church, tackling topics such as the Crusades, the Spanish Inquisition, the Dark Ages, and the Church as anti-science. This book is aimed at a popular audience, but has an extensive bibliography and is well-documented for those who wish to read further on any topic. Eye-opening and heartening for us Catholics.

#28, Blood Work, by Michael Connelly

Former FBI agent Terry McCaleb is asked to solve the murder of Gloria Torres by her sister. He is ready to refuse until he learns that the new heart that is keeping him alive is Gloria's. Fast paced, lots of twists and turns. Vintage Michael Connelly.
